PHOENIX CRISIS CENTER    Sonja Swanson

A big THANK YOU to those who have placed shampoo, lotions, hair dryers, fuzzy white slippers, and many other items that are needed by the Crisis Center in our donation box.  Another bag was delivered last week.  This is an on-going collection by the Women’s Club.  The donation box is in the lobby with many ideas printed on it of items that can be used by the center.

Food and paper bags for the Food Bank are also collected in the lobby.  Labels and pop tabs are collected in the kitchen.  Thanks for sharing our blessings with others.

 CAN YOU IDENTIFY A STROKE?

Remember The 1st Three Letters....S.T.R.

S *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T *Ask the person to TALK  (speak a

                   simple sentence coherently)

R *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with
ANY ONE of these tasks, call  911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

But here is a new Sign for identifying a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue.   If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

SHARE THE GOODIES

A cake was left in the clubhouse refrigerator on Saturday night

(June 21st) for everyone that would be working or visiting on

Monday morning.  Well, wouldn't you know - it disappeared

on Sunday.  Please, Please.  If you see something in the

refrigerator or pantry, take a slice for yourself, but don't be a pig.

The pop that was left from Memorial day has disappeared and

if you have taken some, please replace it next time you are at the

store. There are others in the park that may appreciate having

something cold to drink and it is convenient to have it, but replace

it as soon as possible.  This way we can all share and enjoy the

treats.
